Your Legacy in Azeroth
Account progression, character choices and long-term rewards.
How it fits together
Unlock Legacy by earning your first point: commonly level 25, but a non-gathering primary profession at skill 150 or full-world exploration can unlock it earlier. Points are shared across your Battle.net account’s non-Hardcore characters.
Account points and character choices
There are 65 challenges and a launch spending cap of 16 points per character. Each character chooses its own allocation. Earning more account points still advances rewards; alts are optional, not required for the 16-point cap.
Three directions

Challenge categories

Useful Legacy perks
Up to five ranks start class talents at levels 9 through 5 instead of 10. The final class-talent budget stays at 51. Use the Talented setting in our calculator when planning that character.
Adds 20% more Scarce gathering materials per rank, up to 100%. It affects Scarce resources, not all normal gathering yields.
Reduces the cooldown for camp features by 8/17/25% across three ranks.
Extends long-duration party and raid buffs and camp benefits by 50/100%.
A daily profession-training benefit; once all professions are at skill 300 it instead supplies Elemental Essences.
Reduces vendor item prices by 5/10%. It no longer discounts training or repairs.
After 5 points in its tree, each rank adds a 10% chance for an extra cooking result, up to 50%. The latest change moves its position without changing that access requirement.
After 5 points in its tree, fishing with an active lure has a 25/50% chance to catch an extra fish.
Temporary beta rules
Beta only: testers were granted 16 Legacy Points on 8 October. The cheapest Legacy respec is 1 silver, with the respec penalty reducing by one step each hour. This grant and price are not launch promises.
Old Warriors planning advice
Choose activities you enjoy and coordinate group challenges. Review each character’s purpose before allocating points: a gathering character and a dungeon regular may want different benefits. Treat beta numbers as a planning snapshot.
